Fishing Byron Bay

If it’s fishing spots you seek, Tallow Beach Byron Bay is great for beach fishing. Access is via walking south from Cosy corner or from carparks off Alcorn Street Suffolk Park. Tallow Beach stretches south 6.5kms from cosy corner down to Broken Head. This is stunning strip of coastline, however has unpredictable and dangerous swimming and surf conditions.

Little Watego’s Beach Byron Bay offers punters the ideal rock fishing location, this north facing 150m beach is well-protected and popular also for swimming and sun bathing.

The region is abundant with whiting, bream and tailor while northern bluefin tuna and jewfish can be taken from the rocks.

Please note parts of Byron Bay’s waters are within the marine park with restricted fishing conditions, please read signage to protect the local marine life.
