The Byron Bay Surf Festival is on this weekend! 24th to the 26th of October, 2014. Come on in to Byron Bay and experience this celebration of all things surfing.
The event will officially launch with an opening ceremony at Apex Park Main Beach from 6:30pm-7pm on October 24th, by the Arakwal Bundajalung people with Nigel Stewart’s ‘Welcome to Country’ performance.
This well then be followed by the Australian surf film premier of ‘Beyond the Surface’, featuring Ishita Malaviya, India’s first female surfer. The film documents the way that surfing yoga and ecological creativity are bringing hope and creating change for local people and our Planet.
There’s so much on over the three days, that we can’t cover it all, but here are some of the other events on the line-up:

Surf Art Market: Oct 25
Surf Spa Food, Mian Beach: Oct 25
Ocean Fit Pilates, Main Beach: Oct 25
Freestyle ‘n Stoke, Wategos: Oct 26
Corona Party Wave Invitational, Wategos: Oct 26
Tandem Surfing Exhibition and Workshop, Wategos: Oct 26
After Party with The Griswolds, Wategos: Oct 26.
A free shuttle bus will be available between Clarkes Beach and Wategos on the 26th.
